Get Involved

We are encouraging everyone to take action for nature in any way they can, and there are plenty of options to do this through our Wilder Landscapes work.

Volunteer with us

Volunteering is a chance to make a positive contribution to nature’s recovery in your local area - learning new skills, meeting new people and sharing or increasing your knowledge of nature.

In the Wilder Landscapes team, we offer the opportunity to be a Conservation Volunteer on our Wilder Ouse and Wilder Horsham District projects. Becoming a Conservation Volunteer gives you the chance to get out in the fresh air and to take meaningful action for nature. Some of the tasks you might be involved with include planting trees, behaving like beavers! And doing wildlife surveys.

Whether you can spare a few hours or a full day, our volunteer days are flexible and occasional, so just sign up to the dates that you are interested in.

If you’re passionate about educating the next generation of conservationists, we also work with local schools to engage young people with their local wildlife:

Take Action

Simple actions

There are a number of simple actions you can take to help nature in your area. The Wilder Landscapes Land Advisor, Fran Southgate, has put together a list of 12 things you can do for wildlife, and find out how you can garden with wildlife in mind on our In Your Garden pages.

Fun actions

We want everyone to engage with nature, and the best way to engage young people and children is to make nature fun. Visit Nextdoor Nature to find out how to build bug towers, how to help hedgehogs, and advice on feeding your local bird population. You can also find out how to Go Wild at Home with activity sheets, films, and other resources to give you a stepping stone into the whole family taking action for nature.

If you can’t take action yourself, you can help us to take action by donating, or becoming a member
