Action on your doorstep
Nature doesn’t come with a rulebook. Some people want to get stuck into hands-on conservation work. Others want to inspire their neighbours, campaign for local green spaces, or simply help a child notice a butterfly for the first time. Sussex Wildlife Trust works alongside communities to help everyone find their own way.

How we work with communities
Sussex Wildlife Trust has deep-rooted relationships across Sussex, with projects already creating real change for both wildlife and people.
Meaningful action for nature looks different for everyone. From practical volunteering days restoring habitats, to youth forums shaping conservation priorities, to bat walks sparking a lifelong love of wildlife, and to events which help communities to discover and care for the nature on their doorstep.
There’s no single way to be part of nature’s recovery. We work in many ways so that many more people can take action for nature. And we are always open to new ways of collaborating with communities and the wild places they love.

Volunteer with us
Hundreds of people in Sussex, of all ages, volunteer with us. It’s a brilliant way to make a difference, pick up new skills, make contacts and get to know the work we do. Some of our volunteers go on to become members of staff or trustees.
