Senior leadership team

Nic’s passion for nature and people is at the heart of everything she does. She’s dedicated her career to inspiring and enabling action for nature and climate and has over 10 years of leadership experience, including with RSPB and Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.

Her aim for the Trust is to build a diverse, people-powered movement, where people fall in love with nature and take action to protect and restore it.

She’s always felt a strong connection to nature and enjoys creating homes for wildlife through gardening and building ponds. She loves the power of communities coming together to take collective action to make a difference for nature.

Henri has been dedicated to supporting and protecting the wildlife in Sussex for many years during her distinguished career in conservation. She was Manager of the Sussex Biodiversity Record Centre for 14 years.  

Henri leads the Conservation Directorate, which includes: the Conservation team, the Nature Reserves team, Nature Recovery, all of our Wilder projects, Green Finance, and the Trust’s marine work. All of these have, at their heart, the aim of bringing about a functional network for nature across Sussex.  

She is currently Chair of the Sussex Kelp Recovery Project and Deputy Chair of the Sussex Local Nature Partnership.   

In her spare time, Henri can generally be found exploring footpaths around the Sussex countryside with her son and dog, never happier than discovering new places.   

Angela lives in Sussex with her family and loves being near the sea. She has held senior financial positions for a number of charities, such as Friends of the Earth, Rocking Horse, Grace Eyre and Age UK, West Sussex. She is very pleased to have now brought her finance skills to the conservation sector.  

In her role, Angela specialises in making financial information transparent and accessible, providing excellent customer service and building the Trust’s financial sustainability.  

In her spare time, in summer, she loves cycling down to the beach in Hove, swimming in the sea and watching the sunset. In winter, she loves going to see films at Depot cinema in Lewes, with coffee and cake in hand. 

Polly loves the South Downs and enjoys living near the sea. Her leadership skills were honed during her time working as a head teacher. She enjoys the challenge of change and working with people that are passionate and committed to their work. 

Polly leads the Communities Team and is responsible for delivering a wide-ranging programme of engagement and work with diverse communities, in order to connect people in Sussex with nature and inspire them to take action for wildlife. 

In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her family, who all enjoy camping, walking, and country pubs. She also likes kayaking, reading and her lovely garden.
