Trustees and President

Nick is a Chartered Accountant, who moved to West Sussex after retiring from being partner in a global accountancy firm. He’s worked as an executive coach and is also trustee of Chichester Festival Theatre.  

Andrew has lived in Sussex for over 30 years, working as a litigation solicitor. He currently works for a national law firm with offices in Sussex and deals primarily with data protection and probate issues. 

Mark is a retired Chartered Accountant who used to work in senior finance positions, primarily in the energy and utility sectors in the UK and Europe. He is non-executive director of a utility company in the UK and has lived in and around Brighton all his life. 

Martin’s career has included senior roles in the voluntary and international development sectors. After retiring as Director of Programme Innovation and Funding for Christian Aid, he joined the board of two organisations, one that funds social investments and one which he chaired, that works to support people with learning disabilities. 

Helen is a retail professional, having worked for contemporary brands in the UK and overseas. During this time, she has gained experience in delivering growth strategies and developing customer experience propositions. She now works locally to support and advocate for businesses. Helen is also actively involved in local conservation work. 

Danny is Executive Director of an international humanitarian charity. She has spent her career working in international development. Her experiences include securing sustainable livelihoods for women, supporting communities to access, protect and manage their natural resources, and promoting climate smart agriculture. Principles of equality and inclusion have always been central to her work. 

David is a wildlife photography and film consultant, best-selling author, conservationist, teacher, mentor and inspirational speaker, fuelled by an all-consuming passion for wildlife. 

Louise is a marketing professional with specialisms in Brand and Digital Strategy. Her other experience includes strategy development, change management and people development. She loves creating art inspired by the wildlife of Sussex as well as paddleboarding on the coast. 

Mark is a retired Senior Civil Servant, who worked in international development for almost 40 years. Since retiring, he has been very involved with the Sussex Ornithological Society. Mark lives in Haywards Heath and spends hours studying the scarcest breeding birds found in Sussex’s wooded interior. He’s a keen wildlife gardener. 

Milly is a software engineer, passionate about diversity, inclusion and accessibility within technology and the workplace. They volunteer as a Youth Ranger at the youth-led urban nature reserve in Brighton, The Deneway. 

Steph is a DEI Operations Manager, leading strategy and inclusion efforts in partnership with the British Army. With an MSc in Organisational Psychology and a passion for evidence-based change, she brings professional insight and personal commitment to diversity. Steph is a keen hiker and conservation volunteer.   

Morwenna is an aspiring conservationist with hands-on experience in ecological consultancy, nature recovery, and community engagement. She’s worked on species surveys, habitat mapping, and environmental advocacy, and volunteers with the Sussex Wildlife Trust. With a deep love for Sussex’s landscapes, Morwenna is passionate about making nature accessible to all and supporting inclusive conservation efforts. 

Kathy is a conservation professional with over 20 years’ experience developing influential programmes, policy and advocacy. She’s helped shape river management policy in the UK and internationally, and authored the Forgotten Fishes report series, recognised globally for advancing freshwater fish conservation and awareness.
