Partnerships

We recognise that only through working together will we achieve our vision of thriving wildlife.

Landowners and farmers are integral to the work of Wilder Ouse and we are fortunate to be working with many inspiring, passionate individuals across the catchment.

Wilder Ouse is a strong partnership between the Woodland Trust, Sussex Wildlife Trust and the Environment Agency, with funding support from Lewes District Council. This is a continued partnership that formed the foundation of the work delivered by the previous project Sussex Flow Initiative.

  • The Environment Agency is an executive non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs. They were established in 1996 to protect and improve the environment.
  • The Woodland Trust is a national conservation charity that has been working since 1972 to protect, restore and create woodlands to enable people and nature to thrive.
  • Lewes District Council is one of five district councils within the Ouse catchment, and comprises the major settlements of Lewes and Newhaven.
