Nature Tots

Put some warm clothes and wellies on a young child, grab a snack for the way and then head outdoors to the nearest park, woodland, meadow or stream for an hour or two. Observe what happens. This child, who moments before was getting underfoot, complaining of boredom, throwing a tantrum or scribbling on the walls, quickly gets drawn into the natural world around them. A puddle, a stick, a snail, a colourful petal, a feather, a fallen tree, a muddy patch – all these things become part of a magical adventure that will stimulate and inspire, leaving the child happy, tired, hungry and wondering about what they’ll discover on their next adventure.

These are just some of the ingredients available in the Nature Tots programme based at Tilgate Park and at Chesworth Farm, Horsham. We have created a Forest School programme for 3-5 year olds and accompanying parents/guardians, where there will be weekly Thursday morning sessions (from 10.00 – 12.00) at Tilgate and on Monday mornings at Chesworth Farm. To get you outdoors and into the woods with your child(ren) to have fun and explore the natural world. The recipe is simple - just add fresh air, mud, sticks, water, and wildlife and enjoy the results. And we’ll add the craft activities, stories and warm drinks around the fire.
