Storrington & Arun Valley Regional Group

Arun Valley around Pulborough Brooks
@Viviane Doussy at Pulborough Brooks

The Sussex Wildlife Trust Storrington & Arun Valley Regional Group was formed as a community group in April 2021 by a committee of local SWT supporters and now has almost 300 members.

Our group supports SWT by communicating the Trust’s strategy, plans and objectives at a local level. We are committed to enhancing biodiversity within our local community by enriching gardens, public spaces, and buildings to support local wildlife. We work in partnership with parish councils and other local conservation organisations, enhancing the outcomes of our collective efforts.

Our members enjoy a range of events and activities including local guided walks led by experts (for a range of abilities), newly introduced birdwatching coffee-mornings, garden visits, informal meetings on a range of subjects, and informative sessions explaining why and how to record wildlife.

Our group is currently focussing on four projects; Swifts, Green Spaces for Nature, Churchyards, and Bats. Find out more about our projects

Our dedicated core committee are Sarah Abercromby (Chair), Alastair Graham (Treasurer), Ines Garcia (Secretary), and Katharine Metters (Events Coordinator), and Phil Huggins guides our efforts. Vital support for our projects and events is provided by an indispensable Action Team.

Membership of our regional group is free to all Sussex Wildlife Trust members. For more information or to join, please email us on: [email protected]
