Storrington & Arun Valley Regional Group

The Sussex Wildlife Trust Storrington & Arun Valley Regional Group was formed as a constituted community group in April 2021 by Founder Member Phil Huggins. To get in touch please email us on: [email protected]
We have 3 key officers: Chair Sarah Abercromby; Treasurer Alastair Graham (supported by Sue Ewers on the accounts) and Secretary Phil Huggins. They are well-supported by 6 more committee members: Viviane Doussy, Jerry Lindsey, Julie Gamlin, Christine Lindsay, Cathy Briggs and Ian Ward.
This group supports SWT by communicating the Trust’s strategy, plans and objectives at a local level. We provide direct and tangible support ‘on the ground’ to SWT’s key initiatives and projects – including specialist species expertise, physical habitat improvement and other aspects where possible.
We work closely with existing wildlife and conservation groups, societies and Councils, actively seeking ways in which we can collaborate for the benefit of wildlife and the environment.
Activities include online talks, training sessions and outdoor guided walks. Details of upcoming events are shared in our member's monthly newsletters.

Private Garden Visit
Courtesy of Jane and Michael Joseph, our SWT Regional Group had the privilege of visiting this wonderful gem of a garden. Provide plenty of protection, food, water and shelter and the wildlife will pour in and reward you with abundance. A fine local example that inspired us all to do more! Please read this wonderful article by a member visitor and local historian.
