Where to see… orchids
There are about 56 species of orchid native to the UK and 23 of those can be found across Sussex Wildlife Trust’s nature reserves. These are some of the best reserves to visit in search of beautiful and elusive wild orchids.

Children swap the classroom for the beach

Rafts for nesting Common Terns
300 pairs of Common Tern breed in Sussex and most of these are in the Rye area - at Rye Harbour and Pett Level. A project was put together to provide additional nesting sites for Common Tern on artificial islands, or rafts, to improve their breeding success.
