Thank you for thinking of donating to the Sussex Wildlife Trust in memory of a loved one. Many people choose to remember a loved one by donating in memory to their favourite cause.Your generosity and support is hugely appreciated and your gift will help secure a better future for wildlife in Sussex as a lasting tribute.
The options here are simple suggestions. If you would like to discuss them, or anything else relating to donations in memory then please feel free to contact Gemma Pratt, Email: [email protected] or phone: 01273 497566
1. Create an in memory page
You may wish to ask your friends and family to make a charitable donation instead of buying flowers. You can do this online, simply click below to set up a page on Just Giving to collect donations for the Sussex Wildlife Trust.
Click here to create a Just Giving in memory page and click the 'Fundraise for Us' button
2. Set up a funeral collection
You may prefer to include a request for donations in funeral announcements or at the funeral service. This choice is often a reflection of a loved one’s life, interests and values.
Funeral Directors are often happy to arrange a collection ‘in lieu of flowers’ which they will then send on to us. If you would like the Trust to provide you with donation envelopes for a loved one’s funeral service please do get in touch. Our envelopes also include a Gift Aid declaration, enabling us to increase the value of donations we receive from those who choose to Gift Aid their donation.
Some Funeral Directors have partnered with ‘Much Loved’, an online tribute charity where donations to Sussex Wildlife Trust can also be made. Please speak to your Funeral Director if you are interested in arranging a Much Loved tribute page.
3. Donating in memory

4. Memory birds
For in-memory gifts of £400 or more we offer small wooden plaques in the shape of birds, inscribed with the name and dates of the person being remembered. There are a number of bird silhouettes to choose from, which over time have formed a flock on the internal wall of the hide. More details here
