Wonderful Woodlands

Woodlands and hedgerows are home to a range of incredibly wildlife, and deliver many ecosystem services from clean air to flood risk reductions.

Wilder Ouse seeks to:

• Increase woodland coverage where appropriate through natural regeneration or initiative approaches to expand and link up existing habitats

• Replicate the natural process of aging and disturbance mechanisms like wind damage or impact of large herbivores on younger trees through veteranisation
• Educate on the value of retaining standing and fallen deadwood

• Facilitate the introduction of livestock within woodland to restore natural processes
