Woods Mill Nature Reserve

Henfield, England, GB, BN5 9SD

This workshop continues the journey into a deeper sense of your place in the natural world that was begun in Nature Connection Part One

It is suitable for both those who have attended Nature Connection Part One (or any other course run by Alistair Duncan such as Mindfulness in Nature and Deepen Your Nature Connection) and would like to refresh and build on previous practises or for someone who would like to explore nature connection practises for the first time.

During the day you will:

1)Refresh your memory and deepen your experience of the practices that you learnt on the first morning of the previous course.

2)Explore a further set of practices that extend the quality of our awareness and deepen our sense of oneness with the natural world.

3)Encounter individual plants and creatures more directly and with greater attention than we did in the first workshop.

4)Explore using Haiku – simple three line poems – to attempt to capture the vibrant quality of the experiences we have.

As with the first day you will:

– spend guided time on your own learning to pay attention to the richness in everything around you

– take time in the group for reflection and discussion of your experiences

– learn some background behind the practices and how to apply them in your everyday life

– possibly discover the beginnings of a different perspective on the human place in the natural world

The day is a great compliment to the other workshops offered by the Trust which focus more on the identification and habits of the plants and creatures of our Sussex landscape.

It’s also a rare opportunity to spend a day in the enchanting Hoe Wood that is not normally accessible to the public.
