Discover why our coastline and seas are such important habitats for helping to slow the effects of climate change. Find out about the amazing ecosystems and microscopic creatures that are crucial to this process and make a small soft sculpture to take part in our Blue Carbon trail at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. During the session we will go out and explore various parts of the reserve and weather dependent have a making session outside.

Suitable for children aged 5 to 11 years, who may be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Location: Meet at Rye Harbour Discovery Centre, Rye Harbour, TN31 7FW

Public transport: How to find us | Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. The 313 Stagecoach bus travels from Northiam to Rye train station and on to Rye Harbour village.

What to bring/wear: Please wear suitable outdoor clothing/footwear, and sun protection, for the weather conditions and be prepared to dip your toes in the water! Price doesn’t include refreshments, so bring a drink & snack, or Lime Kiln café at the Centre will be open from 10am to 4pm for refreshments and lunch.

Accessibility: We use accessible paths where possible, however our outdoor activities may not always be suitable for those with restricted mobility. If this might be an issue, contact us before booking and we'll do our best to support you. Our toilet facilities will be available, if needed, at the beginning and end of your session.
