Home Education: The Changing Landscape– Rye Harbour (30/04/25)

Learn about the changing landscape of Rye Harbour Nature Reserve and explore how we have learnt to live alongside the moving coastline. We will take a walk around the reserve to spot different man-made and natural features of the reserve and explore the changes through different mapping activities. Back in the education room we will then create a mixed media landscape inspired by the changing landscape.

Suitable for children aged 5 to 11 years, who can be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Location: Meet at Rye Harbour Discovery Centre, Rye Harbour, TN31 7FW

Public transport: How to find us | Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. The 313 Stagecoach bus travels from Northiam to Rye train station and on to Rye Harbour village.

What to bring/wear: Please wear suitable outdoor clothing/footwear, and sun protection, for the weather conditions and be prepared to dip your toes in the water! Price doesn’t include refreshments, so bring a drink & snack, or Lime Kiln café at the Centre will be open from 10am to 4pm for refreshments and lunch.

Accessibility: We use accessible paths where possible, however our outdoor activities may not always be suitable for those with restricted mobility. If this might be an issue, contact us before booking and we'll do our best to support you. Our toilet facilities will be available, if needed, at the beginning and end of your session.
