💚 Young People's Month event at Rye Harbour 💚

Are you interested in becoming a naturalist? Passionate about protecting nature? Hear Mya Bambrick's journey to becoming a naturalist. She'll share her tips on how to gain useful skills and get experience in the field of nature, including writing and presenting.

Mya is an award-winning young naturalist, presenter and writer from Sussex, scooping the British Trust for Ornithology's Young Ornithologist Award in 2023. She aims to engage young people from different backgrounds with nature and wants to help inspire other young wildlife-enthusiasts to make a difference.

Her talk will be followed by a question & answer session and a screening of short documentary, 'Conservation: the Next Generation'. The film is presented by Mya and created by young wildlife filmmaker Amy King, winner of Sussex Wildlife Trust's David Streeter Award 2021. Endorsed by Chris Packham, it features four young naturalists from diverse backgrounds, their passions and how they overcome their challenges: Hannah King, Josh Boe, Şeniz Mustafa and Johnathon Miller-McCall.

At the age of 22, Mya is a Youth Representative for the British Trust for Ornithology, she has written for the Guardian's Country Diary and Birdwatching Magazine and featured on Radio 4’s Tweet of the Day. See her website.
