Creative Hand Stitching Workshop: The Shape of Birds - Rye Harbour (06/04/25)

Create a beautiful piece of unique, hand-stitched artwork in this fun and creative workshop.

Taking inspiration from birds seen at the nature reserve, you’ll learn to hand stitch using the negative space embroidery technique. You’ll practice several stitches and will be using threads that reflect the natural colours found around the reserve. Suitable for beginners, this workshop is aimed at adults who are able to sew, and ages 16 upwards. Under 18's need to be accompanied by an adult.

Liz is a local artist who creates colourful and unique hand embroidery inspired by the natural world, especially birds. she uses sustainably-sourced materials to give old threads a new life. All materials included. There will be a short lunch break. Our café will be open from 9.30am until 4.15pm serving refreshments and light lunches.
