Art Photography Workshop: 'Landscape and Memory, Dusk to Dawn' - Rye Harbour (26/10/24 and 16/11/24 ) Saturday, 16th November 2024 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM
*The first of these events has now passed, if you'd like to join the waiting list for future workshops, please email us at: [email protected]*
Tutor: Martin-Paul Everett
This unique workshop is aimed at intermediate to advanced photographers who have a strong interest in art photography and are willing to discuss their work, from a conceptual rather than a purely visual standpoint. Ideal for photographers with some experience and those planning to study photography at university. This is an opportunity to get feedback and insights from Martin-Paul Everett, a practicing art photographer, and lecturer at Newport School of Photography and Falmouth Institute of Fine Art.
Martin's work often explores themes of memory, perception, and the interplay between light and shadow. Upcoming showcases include international art photography fairs, Photo L.A. and Photo Basel.
"...the attraction of twilight or dusk, when the seen is poised to disappear into the unseen, when the daylight world of facts begins subtly to slide into the realm of dreams."
This 2-part workshop will take place over two days, the first session on Saturday 26 October, and the second on Saturday 16 November.
- Students will be asked to send in 2 images before the first session which will be used for teaching and discussion in class.
- During each session, the group will take a walk of up to 2 hours in the nature reserve to take images of the landscape.
- Students will need to prepare work between sessions, based on what they learnt in the first session.
