Home Education: Explore the Shore – Rye Harbour (24/10/24) Thursday, 24th October 2024 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Leader: Aimi Rifat

We'll explore time and how it can be recorded using the coastal environment, creating a sundial and measuring the tides using found materials. We'll meet at the kiosk at Rye Harbour car park and walk along the pathway to the beach to find out about the cycle of the moon and rhythms of the waves, ending with a beach clean to thank the shore. Suitable for children aged 5 to 11 years, who must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

If the weather is poor, we'll learn about the shoreline and tides in the Discovery Centre and create a felted soap pebble.

Location: Meet at Rye Harbour Car Park.

Public transport: How to find us | Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. The 313 Stagecoach bus travels from Northiam to Rye train station and on to Rye Harbour village.
