Home Education: Roots and Shoots – Rye Harbour (21/10/24) Monday, 21st October 2024 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Leader: Aimi Rifat
Discover how wild plants on the nature reserve differ from plants in the garden and how they adapt to survive the harsh landscape here. We'll meet at the kiosk at Rye Harbour car park and walk along the pathway into the nature reserve to identify different wild plants. Suitable for children aged 5 to 11 years, who must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
If the weather is poor, we'll use microscopes in the Discovery Centre to look at the plants in detail and discuss features that allow them to adapt. We'll then use a mark-making activity, with natural materials, to explore patterns and textures found in nature.
