Family Event: Moth Trap Opening - Rye Harbour (07/09/2024)

Meet the moths! Join us as we open our trap to discover which moths have arrived overnight, then identify and release them. We never know what we’ll find, from tiny micro-moths, to a rare Sussex Emerald, or a colourful tiger moth!

We’ll walk from the Discovery Centre to our nearby moth trap, learning about Rye Harbour nature reserve, its plants and wildlife, on the way. After which we’ll chat about the fascinating moths we find, their lifecycle and what they eat.

Then we’ll return to the centre for fun moth-inspired crafts, as well as a drink and a sweet treat. If the weather is too wet, we’ll offer nature-themed games or crafts indoors.

Suitable for children aged 5 to 11 years, who must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All participants need to buy a ticket, dates of birth are needed for child tickets.
