Family Event: Family Moth Trap Opening (13/08/2024)

Take part in our fascinating moth trapping activity at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve! Join in, as we open our traps to discover what moths have arrived overnight, then identify and release them. We never know what we’ll find, from tiny micro-moths, to the beautiful and rare Sussex Emerald.

Then we’ll return to the Discovery Centre for fun moth-related craft, as well as a drink and a sweet treat. If the weather is too wet, we’ll offer activities indoors, like salt dough modelling or nature-themed games.

Suitable for children aged 5 to 11 years, who must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please be aware that all participants need to buy a ticket.

Location: Meet at Rye Harbour Discovery Centre, Rye Harbour, TN31 7FW

Public Transport: The 313 Stagecoach bus travels from Northiam to Rye train station and on to Rye Harbour village.

What to bring: Please wear suitable outdoor clothing/footwear, and sun protection, for the weather conditions, and bring a drink.
