Woods Mill Education Centre

We are not taking school bookings at Woods Mill at this time. We are currently reviewing and developing our Wilder Schools offer.

Woods Mill is the headquarters of the Sussex Wildlife Trust. The 44 acre Nature Reserve covers a variety of habitats including meadow with hedgerow, freshwater and woodland. Most of the reserve is now accessible by wheelchair and there is a classroom with a wide range of equipment for indoor and outdoor studies. Woods Mill is situated east of the A2037 and about 1.5 miles south of Henfield.  The car park has two coach parking bays.

Our activities and games are designed to support aspects of the National Curriculum, but we also want the children to have a wider sense and enjoyment of the natural world around them. We encourage the children to explore their surroundings and we foster their interests in the wildlife they discover. Our leaders enjoy sharing their particular wildlife passion and knowledge, and hope to inspire visitors to make wildlife part of their everyday lives.
