Urgent: last chance to Defend Nature, please take action today!
By Henri Brocklebank, Director of Conservation
This is it. On Wednesday 24 May, MPs will make a crucial vote on the REUL Bill that could have serious consequences for nature.
The next 24 hours are pivotal. We need all MPs to vote ‘Yes’ to Amendment 48, which protects the laws that keep wildlife and people safe and healthy.
Thanks to you, the government has already made one U-turn on the destructive REUL Bill, so we know our Defend Nature campaign is working.
But as it stands, the REUL Bill still poses a major threat to wildlife. It gives Ministers and any future UK government powers to remove the laws that protect nature and our health without proper checks. New amendments that will be subject to a vote on Wednesday 24 May could change all this – but only if we can get them agreed.
Your MP has the power, and you can convince them to act. Please contact your MP today, asking them to protect the laws that protect nature by voting ‘Yes’ to Amendment 48 this Wednesday 24 May.
Take action now to Defend Nature - raise the alarm with your MP
This could be our last chance to Defend Nature from the REUL Bill – please take action today! Thank you.
