Youth Rangers Brighton
Deneways Wild Future is a youth-led reserve project that gives young people aged 16-25 the opportunity to manage and maintain a nature reserve whilst working in partnership with staff and local groups.
The Deneway Nature Reserve is a linear greenspace stretching along over half a kilometre of the main rail link between London and Brighton. As a former brownfield site, it is a valuable urban environment consisting of secondary woodland, mixed scrub and grassland. The reserve offers a sheltered wildlife corridor from open downland into the suburbs. It is a hidden gem, home to a wide variety of wildlife, the site offers a great space for volunteer groups, school visits, corporate groups, community projects and forest school trainees.
