Family Members Event: Leaky Dam Building, Uckfield (01/11/24) Friday, 1st November 2024 12:30 PM - 3:00 PM
Tutor: Lydia Baxter - Wilder Ouse Project Officer and Mike Murphy - Wilder Learning Officer
Bring the family along for an afternoon of Leaky Dam building.
Leaky dams improve habitats for local wildlife and reduce flooding by slowing the flow of water.
Join Lydia and Mike, from the Sussex Wildlife Trust, who will show you how to build leaky dams using coppiced branches from the local woodland.
This is a great opportunity for Family and Watch Members to directly support conservation work in Sussex whilst having fun outdoors.
This event is suitable for children of Reception age (4yrs) and above. No previous experience is necessary.
Please be aware that parents and carers are responsible for the direct supervision of their children at all times
Location: Perrymans Lane, Uckfield, TN22 4BZ
What to bring: You will be working in shallow water (ankle deep) so please bring knee high wellies and weather appropriate clothing. We would recommend layers and a change of clothes.

Other Information: The site is a 5-10 minute walk from the car park. There are no toilets on site but a toilet tent will be available.
