Course Tutor: Chris Keeler, Lost Woods of the Low Weald and Downs
Lost Woods is a partnership project run by staff and volunteers from Action in Rural Sussex, Small Woods Association, Sussex Wildlife Trust and The Woodland Trust. It is bringing local people together to learn about, explore, and care for woods across the Low Weald and Downs. Together, we can reconnect with our ancient woodlands and revive, restore, and protect them for future generations.
This two-day beginner’s course is for anyone who looks after woodland; owner, manager or conservation volunteer. It’s also a great introduction for anyone interested in woodlands!
The course will cover:
- staying safe in woodlands
- legal responsibilities and duty of care
- woodland / hedgerow tree & shrub identification
- types of woodland management
- basic tree safety inspection
- how to find wildlife in woodlands
- practical woodland skills
Price: £80
