Dive into Rockpooling - Rottingdean Beach 28/10/24 Monday, 28th October 2024 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Come and learn about the marine and coastal creatures found in Sussex! This is a practical introduction to rockpooling and the fascinating life we have right on our doorstep. You will learn how to go rockpooling safely – for both you and the environment – and how to identify common rockpool creatures.
Sussex Wildlife Trust will provide all necessary equipment.
This is a free event, open to all ages.
Please note: This is not a drop off event. All under 18s MUST be accompanied by an adult who must also book a place.

Paid car park available at Marine Cliffs Car Park, BN2 7HQ
What to bring: Shoes suitable for rockpooling (waterproof shoes e.g. wellies, or ones you don’t mind getting wet, good grip, closed toes – (absolutely no open toed shoes!), clothes suitable for the weather e.g. waterproofs, warm layers, hat, suncream and water.
Public transport: Buses 12, 14, 27, and 76 service the area
Accessibility: Rottingdean Beach is accessed by the Undercliff Walk, which is accessible by wheelchair down a slope via High Street. The beach is then accessed by steps down from the Undercliff Walk
There are accessible toilets next to Molly’s At The Beach Café.
Rockpooling by nature is on uneven and slippery surfaces, therefore a good level of fitness is required.
