Lost Words Writing Workshop 6 – Rye Harbour (24/06/23) Saturday, 24th June 2023 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Re-wilding your Writing
Join writer and poet, S Morgan, for this fun creative workshop that will give you a practical toolbox with which to find your own voice to speak about the natural world, whether in poetry, prose or memoir.
This is the last of a series of 6 workshops facilitated by our Lost Words project – a community arts project based on The Lost Words book by bestselling nature writer Robert Macfarlane and artist Jackie Morris; an exquisite book of poetry and paintings aimed at returning our focus to nature and stopping the disappearance of nature vocabulary.
These hands-on workshops will cover a wide range of topics including encountering the Lost Words species at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve; practical tools to improve your writing; using the senses to make writing live; telling stories; ‘Barefoot Writing’; the power of metaphor and simile: writing that jumps off the page.
Suitable for anyone aged 16 and over.
Meet at Rye Harbour Discovery Centre.
This workshop is free - made possible with National Lottery Heritage Fund
