Old Lodge lies within the heart of the Ashdown Forest. It comprises a wide-open landscape of heather and grassland, dotted with gorse, birch, oak and Scots pine. It sits higher than the surrounding West Sussex heaths, giving it a cooler, damper climate more representative of northern upland moors. Join us for a circular walk of approximately 4-5km looking for heathland birds, dragonflies, reptiles and other wildlife. This walk includes one fairly steep hill. Led by James Duncan.

Booking for members events

If you would like to book for any of these events, please email [email protected] stating the name and time of the event you would like to book, the number and names of members attending, and your membership number. You can also book by phoning 01273 497533, but email is preferable due to staff working from home. Please note that places are limited and bookings will be dealt with on a first come, first served basis. Your booking will be confirmed to you by email.

Refreshments will be provided at most events, but please note you will need to bring your own cup/mug.
