Winter Birds at Rye Harbour (15/09/2022)

Whilst winter may appear a quiet time for birds, the surprisingly mild and predictable conditions in Sussex make it extremely attractive to a whole host of migratory visitors. Though September may seem early, many of the summer visitors are leaving, but many of the winter birds will be just starting to arrive.

Join James Duncan for an indoor presentation as he guides us through this suite of visitors, learning more about their incredible journeys and how to identify them through sight and sound. The talk will last for approximately an hour and there will be a short Q&A session at the end. 

James will then head out onto the reserve for a walk to search for some of these first arrivals, which participants are welcome to join. This will follow a circular route and last approximately 2 hours, with a finishing time of 1.30pm.
