Wildlife Walk at Malling Down (24/08/22) - FULLY BOOKED Wednesday, 24th August 2022 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Leader: James Duncan
Join us to explore Malling Down, an exceptional example of rare chalk grassland found across the South Downs. These unique meadows are one of the richest habitats for flora but are unfortunately in huge decline. The vast diversity of plant species support thriving insect populations, including the spectacular Adonis Blue Butterfly. We’ll take a circular walk of around 4km, exploring the reserve to learn how this landscape has evolved and to look for the wildlife that occupies this fascinating habitat.
PLEASE NOTE: This walk includes some steep slopes. Please bring suitable footwear, water and sunscreen.
Meet in the small car park in Mill Road, Lewes. There should be parking available in the road itself, though it may be limited. Nearest postcode - BN7 2RU.
