A creative ocean-focused art session with local artists in Eastbourne!

About this event

Art by the Sea aims to be a person-led, creative ocean-focused session with local artists in Eastbourne. Attendees will be given art starter packs with a handmade sketchbook and can take part in various activities such as tracing seaweed, rubbings, painting stones and printmaking. This is a space for you to enjoy your own creativity, and to share your art with others. Different artists/facilitators will be attendance to guide and offer their skills and experience, rather than hands-on teaching.

ON THE DAY

14:00 - Meet by the public toilets next to Holywell Tea Shack

We will then head down to the beach!

14:15 – 14:30 – Introduction and safety briefing

A quick introduction and safety briefing, and time to answer questions if people have any.

14:30 – 16:30 – Art session!

Attendees will be given art starter packs with a handmade sketchbook and can take part in various activities such as tracing seaweed, rubbings, painting stones and printmaking. This is a space for you to enjoy your own creativity, and to share your art with others. Different artists/facilitators will be attendance to guide and offer their skills and experience.

16:30-17:00 – Get together!

After having fun and being creative, we’d love to come back together and share and discuss our artwork.

What to bring:

• Bag(s) for your art
• Sturdy shoes for the beach
• Water
• Sunscreen
• Snacks (if you want)

Allergies/ dietary requirements: You will be using different tools on the beach. Let us know if you have allergies or requirements when you sign up to this event.

• This event is for 16–25-year-olds.
• Booking is necessary to attend the event.
• Please confirm your attendance. You will be sent an email and waver a few days before the event to confirm that you are coming. Due to limited slots, people who have not confirmed will be removed from the attendee list.
• Please be respectful of others during the event. We will ask you to leave if you are not respectful of others.
• This event will be held weather permitting and be rescheduled if necessary.
