Open Day at Spithurst Churchyard (East Sussex) (25/06/22) Saturday, 25th June 2022 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
St Bartholomew’s Churchyard in Spithurst (between Barcombe Cross and Newick in East Sussex) is a small rural churchyard and a designated Local Wildlife Site. It is carefully managed by a small group of local volunteers to encourage wildflowers, butterflies and other wildlife. Join us between 10-3 to meet volunteers and Sussex Wildlife Trust and learn more about the wildlife that can be found here. Drop in anytime or attend the following events.
- 10:00 Moth trap opening. We’ll lift the lid on last night’s moth survey and see who was flying around the churchyard.
- 11:00 Wildflower Walk around the churchyard
- 11:30 Guided Wildlife Walk #1: A circular walk (approx. 2.5km) from the churchyard taking in local woodlands and meadows looking for butterflies, birds and other wildlife
- 13:00 Wildflower Walk around the churchyard
- 13:30 Guided Wildlife Walk #2: As above
