An Introduction to Gulls - Henfield (04/12/2020) Friday, 4th December 2020 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Tutor: Mike Russell
It is easy to dismiss the large flocks of white birds that congregate along the coast and fields each winter as ‘seagulls’ but there are in fact many species of British gull all with unique identification features, habits and lifestyles.
The plumages of young gulls varies with age and some species have winter and summer plumages which can make gull identification a challenge. However with some help you can start to untangle you Herrings from you Lesser Black-backs and your Common Gulls from your Kittiwakes.
Mike Russell will be your gull guide in this course which includes a classroom session and session watching gulls a local gull roost.
Suitable for beginners, no experience necessary, just enthusiasm!
