Meet in good time for a 9.45 departure from the Roebuck Hotel, Wych Cross, Forest Row, RH18 5JL (Explorer Map 135: TQ422302). It is located on the A22 just before the A275 fork. The hotel will be open from 9.00 for use of the facilities and coffee…and also breakfast! Please let the leaders know well in advance (contact details below) if you would like to have breakfast.

The morning walk is about 3 miles long and starts with great views over open heath to the South Downs, then descends into the valley of the Millbrook Stream, past the Chelwood Vachery and Braberry Ponds. The Ashdown Forest is the largest open access space in the South East and is a SSSI.

The afternoon walk of 2.5 miles also takes us to the delightful Ashdown Forest. It is a remarkably level walk including a large area of heathland. The area was heavily used in World War Two – leaving a legacy of an airstrip and a valuable wildlife habitat.

Do join our leaders Dev and Dipti for either the morning, afternoon or both walks. Their contact details are: 07514 195858 or 07754 394290.
