Join us to explore Flatropers Wood which lies just to the west of Peasmarsh, not far from Rye. The reserve comprises a diverse mixture of habitats ranging from woodland, streams and waterways to open areas of heather. This last aspect is a particular characteristic of woodlands in this part of Sussex, a reflection of the underlying geology. At this time of year the woodland should be bursting with wildflowers, the paths and rides alive with invertebrate life. We'll take a circular walk of around 3km, exploring the reserve to learn about the variety of wildlife present.
Access to this reserve is from Bixley Lane, a small unsurfaced road which joins the A268 on a fairly sharp bend two kilometres west of Peasmarsh.
PLEASE NOTE: There are a few lay-bys on which to park in the lane. Nearest postcode is TN31 6TH
