Old Lodge, Ashdown Forest - Wildlife Walk (25/06/2020) Thursday, 25th June 2020 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Leader:  James Duncan

Old Lodge lies within the heart of the Ashdown Forest. It comprises a wide open landscape of heather and grassland, dotted with gorse, birch, oak and scots pine. It sits higher than the surrounding West Sussex heaths, giving it a cooler, damper climate more representative of northern upland moors. Join us for a circular walk of approximately 4-5km looking for heathland birds, butterflies, reptiles and other wildlife.

This walk includes some hills, so we recommend you bring water to drink. Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions, including suitable footwear and a waterproof, or suncream if applicable.

Meet in the Old Lodge nature reserve car park off the B2026 north of Duddleswell. Nearest postcode TN22 3JD

PLEASE NOTE: Meet in the car park clearly marked ‘Sussex Wildlife Trust’ (a lane which is signposted ‘Old Lodge’ leads to a private farm)

Booking essential as places are limited.
