Spiders are a fascinating and efficient predators with incredible lifestyles and strategies for securing their next meal. This course will give you a chance to learn more about these fascinating animals. Sussex Wildlife Trust’s Iping Common heathland nature reserve is the best site in Sussex for spiders, boasting an amazing 216 species – over a third of the entire UK’s spider species!

Sussex Wildlife Trust’s Senior Ecologist Graeme Lyons will start the day on the site with an introduction to Britain’s spiders and then we will search the heath looking for spiders with a focus on learning how to identify the different species which live here.
