Tutor:  Graeme Lyons

Sussex Wildlife Trust’s Senior Ecologist Graeme Lyons will lead this one-day workshop giving you a great opportunity to learn more about the amazing diversity of beetles that can be found in Sussex.

There are over 4100 species of coleoptera (beetles) in Britain and over 3000 species can be found in Sussex from the hulking Stag Beetle (approx.  70mm) to some species measuring less than 1mm.  The beetles contain a wide diversity of species and include familiar insects such as ladybirds, chafers, glow-worms, longhorns and weevils.  Our Woods Mill reserve is a great place to look for a wide range of beetles in different habitats and learn all about them.
