Graffham Common Wildlife Walk (09/04/19) Tuesday, 9th April 2019 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Heathlands Reunited Project event

This circular walk is one of my favourite walks in Sussex and takes us through a range of habitats as we walk to Gallows Hill on Sussex Wildlife Trust’s Graffham Common nature reserve. Here we will learn more about the history, wildlife and management of these heathlands while enjoying the great views from Gallows Hill. If it’s a warm day we should start seeing the year’s first butterflies, bees and other insects and maybe some early returning summer migrant birds.

Meet in the National Trust car park at Lavington Common (Turn off the A285 Petworth to Duncton road signposted to Graffham and the car park is on the north of this road after 1.5km) (Grid ref: SU948187).

Walk length: Approx 3.5 miles with some slopes.

Walk leader: Michael Blencowe

Free event as part of the Heathlands Reunited Project. Everyone welcome.
