Woods Mill 50 : Brown Hairstreak Egg Hunt (20/01/2019) Sunday, 20th January 2019 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM

Woods Mill Event

The Brown Hairstreak is one of the county’s most elusive butterflies. The adult butterfly which flies in late-summer is rarely seen but it’s surprisingly easy to find their tiny eggs on blackthorn hedges. There were plenty of Brown Hairstreaks seen along the hedgerows at Woods Mill in 2018 but how many eggs did they lay? Join us to learn all about this butterfly and then we’ll grab a magnifying glass (provided) and search for the eggs. There will be prizes! Suitable for egg-hunters of all ages.

Meet at the noticeboard (by the bridge) at Woods Mill, Henfield, West Sussex, BN5 9SD.

Free event. No booking required, just turn up!
