Hunt for a Habitat
Update: Due to the current dry conditions, we will not be running fire-lighting activities at our events. Alternative activities will be offered instead.
Explore the woodland by investigating tracks and signs of the animals that live there and make clay footprints to take home with you. Gather natural materials to make a home for wildlife.
Spend time at the camp site and practice safe fire lighting to make your own hot drink. Develop your bushcraft skills by using hand tools to make animal models to take home with you.
Meet on the green between Stanmer House and Church, Stanmer Park, Lewes Road, Brighton, East Sussex, BN1 9QA.
Please ensure children bring a packed lunch and drink, ideally in a rucksack, and wear suitable outdoor clothing/footwear and sun protection for the weather conditions.
Suitable for children aged 6-11 years. Parents/carers do not accompany children.
Not suitable for wheelchair users or those with compromised mobility.
Toilets in Stanmer village, opposite the café.
Brighton and Hove Bus route nos. 23, 25, 28 and 29 from Brighton stop outside Stanmer Park. Nearest mainline train station: Falmer. One mile walk to meeting place from main road.
