Sussex Half Day Bird Safari - Weir Wood Reservoir (08/06/18) Friday, 8th June 2018 6:30 PM - 10:00 PM
Previously advertised as Broadwater Warren
Weir Wood Reservoir is an important wetland site in Sussex and during the spring and summer it holds a number of breeding great crested grebes and common terns while around the edges you occasionally get some late migrating waders such as common or green sandpiper passing through.
As dusk approaches we will move on to Hindleap Warren on Ashdown Forest where will walk around and hope to see heathland species such as stonechat and possibly tree pipit before going to a viewing point hoping to see woodcock roding overhead and to hear nightjars churring and hopefully even see one.
No previous knowledge or skills required, just enthusiasm!
