Dawn Chorus (06/05/18) Sunday, 6th May 2018 4:15 AM - 7:00 AM
The sound of the spring dawn chorus on our Woods Mill reserve is something you have to experience at least once. It’s certainly worth getting up early for.
A chance to experience the delights of greeting the dawn and the chorus in a Sussex woodland, followed by a lovely breakfast.
We will meet in the car park at 4.15am, hopefully to the sound of the nightingale and to the other birds as they wake up. We will head straight to the wood and stand there for a while as the birds awake and will identify the individual birds as they join the chorus.
Once it is light we walk around the nature reserve to try and see the birds and hear them as well as they will still be singing.
Depending on the weather and how good the bird watching and listening is, we will make our way back to the classroom between 6am - 6.30am for a very welcome continental style breakfast!
Suitable for beginners and anyone interested in birds.
