Walk - Everyone Welcome - Bluebells and More (14/04/18) Saturday, 14th April 2018 9:45 AM - 3:30 PM

Meet for a 9.45am start from The Woodman Arms (Explorer Map 121: TQ067058) just north of the A27 at Hammerpot. Post code BN16 4EU. If travelling west from Worthing on the A27 dual carriageway you will need to pass the pub and then U turn at the designated turning and head back east on the dual carriageway. The turning for the pub is then well signposted.

The pub will be open from 9.00 and so we will be able to use the facilities. Orders for lunch will be taken prior to departing on our walk.

The morning walk, of about 4 miles, will take us north through Hammerpot Copse and on past Angmering Park then back through Stonyland Copse. These woods are a safe haven for our beautiful native bluebell which blooms in dense swathes here during April. We will see many different spring flowers including wood spurge, campion etc. and there should be an abundance of birds at this time of year.

We hope to arrive for lunch at The Woodman Arms at about 12.30.

The afternoon walk is relatively short at 2.5 miles and takes us northwest of Hammerpot through more woodland and farmland to enjoy more of the spring flowers.

You are welcome to join us on the morning or afternoon walk or, of course, both.

Walk led by Mike and Rosalie (Tel: 01403 250756 or 07729 349275 on the day)
