Sussex Wildlife Trust is working hard for nature at this challenging time but we can only do so with your support.

Walk - Everyone Welcome (11/11/17) Saturday, 11th November 2017 9:45 AM - 3:30 PM

Please note this event has been amended from the one previously advertised.

Meet in good time for a 9.45 departure from the George at Eartham, PO18 0LT, near Chichester.(Explorer Map 121: SU 938095 www.thegeorgeeartham.com). If travelling west on the A27 from Brighton, after the roundabout at Fontwell Racecourse, turn right at the next one onto Brittens Lane: follow the lane for a couple of miles and the pub will be on the right-hand side.

There is a big car park behind the pub. There will be no access to facilities prior to the walk. We are required to pre - order lunch. If you are planning on coming then please send Liz ([email protected]) your food choices from the menu found via this link http://thegeorgeeartham.com/sample-menu.html . You should send your choices no later than Monday November 6th.

The morning walk works out at about four miles and forms part of the National Trust’s huge Slindon Estate. The Estate includes woodland, downland, farmland and parkland. During our walk, we will be walking through woodland and beside rolling swathes of glorious Sussex farmland. Watch out for the pump house and The Nore Hill Folly. On a good day, there are views of the coast beyond Chichester and Bognor.

There are no stiles on this walk although the going might well be a bit muddy and there are some steady climbs balanced with wonderful downhill walks!

Lunch at the George promises to be good. The landlord has asked that we ‘deboot’ although he also provides boots covers.

After lunch, we will take a very short drive to the Eartham Woods car park (nearest postcode available is PO18 0NA) before taking a leisurely stroll through the woods.

You are welcome to join us for either or both of the walks. We are hopeful of seeing a lot of fungi on both walks.

Walk led by Liz (07870 828295) and Chris (07710 633919)
