Sussex Wildlife Trust is working hard for nature at this challenging time but we can only do so with your support.

Walk - Everyone Welcome (14/10/17) Saturday, 14th October 2017 9:45 AM - 1:30 PM

This walk is centred around the Yew Tree Inn, The Street, Arlington, Polegate, BN26 6RX and we will depart from the rear of their car park at 9.45. The OS Explorer (map 123) reference for the car park is TQ 543074 and can be accessed from the ‘Drusilla’s roundabout on the A27. Head north from this roundabout on Station Road and, after approximately two miles, turn right at the junction into Chilver Bridge Road. Follow this road and it becomes The Street and the Yew Tree is situated at the next junction.

The facilities at the Inn will not be available at the start of the walk. As usual we will order our food before we leave for the morning walk - copies of the menu will be available on the day but it is also available on the web site We plan to be back at the Inn for lunch around 12:30.

The morning walk is approximately three miles and passes through open countryside up to the Arlington Reservoir. We continue around the reservoir and return to the pub via open fields. There are several stiles along the route but all are easy to negotiate. Parts of the route may be muddy should the walk take place after wet weather.

The afternoon walk is a short two miles stroll taking in part of the Wealdway with ‘clear’ views of the South Downs in the distance. We hope to see some interesting wildlife on both walks.

You are welcome to join us for either or both of the walks.
