Leisurely round Lurgashall: Everyone Welcome

Meet in good time for a 9.45 departure from The Noahs Ark Inn, The Green, Lurgashall, GU28 9ET (Explorer Map 133: SU 936272, Take the A283 north from Petworth for about two miles, and then the first left (a minor road) following the signs to Lurgashall. This 16th century beamed inn overlooks a lovely village green on which cricket has been played for about 170 years.

Cars may be parked in the car park next to the Inn, although this is shared with the church, or in the roads surrounding the green. The Noahs Ark will be open before we leave for tea or coffee and use of their facilities: lunch will be pre-ordered before we leave. The morning walk of under five miles passes two ponds which originally provided the power for the iron industry, and the route goes through fairly flat farmland with woods. There is a small amount of walking on minor roads.

We will aim to return to The Noahs Ark at about 13.00. The afternoon walk of under three miles will take us through more delightful farmland and woodland, and we will return via the parish church.

You are welcome to join us for either or both of the walks.
