Sussex Wildlife Trust is working hard for nature at this challenging time but we can only do so with your support.

Walk - Everyone Welcome (10/06/17) Saturday, 10th June 2017 9:45 AM - 3:30 PM

Meet in good time for a 9:45 departure at The House at Home pub in Cot Lane, Chidham, PO18 8SU (Explorer Map 120: SU 786040). Cot Lane is a turning off the A259 a few miles to the west of Chichester. There is a small car park to the rear to the rear of the pub and also on street parking opposite.

The pub will not be open for coffee but there will be access to their facilities.

We will need to pre-order our meal at the beginning of the week of the walk so please select from their, then current, online menus ( email your choices to [email protected] by Monday June 5th.

The morning walk is less than five miles taking us around to Cobnor Point which is part of Nutbourne Marshes Local Nature Reserve where we should see an abundance of wading and other sea birds. The majority of the Reserve is salt marsh and mud flats which are internationally important habitats and support thousands of wildfowl in winter. The walk is flat with no stiles and there is about half a mile walking along a road with very little traffic. Some of the walk is along the pebble beach. We will be checking the tides as the walk may be affected by high tides at Cobnor Point. (High Tide is 13:30)

After lunch there will be an opportunity to walk on the North East side of the Bosham Channel having crossed fields to get there. This gentle walk is only about two miles.

The pub serves teas all day, however if you would like a cream tea, then this should be ordered before the day.

You are very welcome to join to join us for either or both of these walks.
