Walk - Everyone Welcome (11/03/17) Saturday, 11th March 2017 9:45 AM - 3:30 PM

Meet in good time for a 9:45 departure from the rear of the car park of The Fountain Inn, Ashurst, BN44 3AP (Explorer Map 122: TQ 180161). The pub is on the B2135, about three miles north of the A283 (the turning is off the Steyning bypass).

The Fountain became an Inn in 1788 and has had many famous visitors over the years giving it quite a history. There will be coffee available and the toilets will be open prior to our departure. We will pre-order our food for lunch. We expect to return to the pub at around 12:30 for lunch.

The morning walk is approximately three miles and passes the local church and follows quiet lanes and open countryside. It should be noted that there is likely to be a short muddy section through one of the farmyards. There are five stiles along the route.

The afternoon walk is a short two miles stroll along the banks of the River Adur with spectacular views of the South Downs in the distance. We hope to see some interesting wildlife along the river bank. This walk has a number of stiles.

You are welcome to join us for either or both of the walks.
