An Introduction to Fungi (03/11/16) Thursday, 3rd November 2016 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
(c) Graeme Lyons
An introduction to woodland fungi. After a morning spent in the classroom looking at the anatomy of fungi, the major fungi groups, how to find them and the limits of what you can do without a high-powered microscope we will then move into the ancient woodland of Ebernoe Common where over a 1000 species of fungi have been found including many rare and unusual species.
Hopefully we will see bird’s-nest fungi, waxcaps, hedgehogs, stinkhorns, blushers, deathcaps, caterpillar clubs and many many more!
